Secrets of Writing an EffectiveEssay and Some Basic Rules to Follow
Sometimes it seems that logical essay writing is a single
factor that you need for making your paper compelling. Although logic plays an
important role in persuading readers, it is an essay paper, not enough for essay
writing. An essay sample is a starting point for composing your own
Essay writing should not contain only the definitions of
concepts because its goal is to spark interest in an issue. The paper topic is
formulated so that it requires means multiple solutions instead of one correct
answer. The essay topic should include a question or problem, which motivates one to
think. For example, “The specific problems in contractual relations” or
“Compare views on the mechanism of self-appraisal formation”.
Once it is clear what to write about, you need to spend time gathering the
sources – books, articles, and Internet resources. It is useful to make
notes about everything that may be needed for essay writing: concepts,
examples, opinions, or arguments. This information is used in a paper as an
example only. You need to understand the essence of the actual material
associated with the issue and demonstrate it in an essay as it is generally
shown in an essay sample. We do not recommend you to write about the sources
you have not read.
Essay samples seem to be the theoretical part of the learning process. However,
it actually helps in the acquisition of practical writing skills like the
ability to express own ideas, correctly formulate an idea, and convince the
reader with the help of logic of reasoning. As soon as the idea is written as a
phrase, it becomes separate and independent from its author. The reader of an
essay will consider the written sentences but not the author’s thoughts on the
issue.
Paper writing is different from the spoken language. The student’s ideas in
mind, expressed in the form of words and sentences, may seem to him not what he
wanted to say. It happens due to a lack of practical skills to express thoughts in writing. The only way to gain this skill is to write essays. The
ability to formulate and properly express an idea or thought is also necessary
for effective essay writing. Reading articles, and books, essay samples, as
well as writing essays, encourage thoughts formation. The student needs to apply
proper work form, content, and criteria for its evaluation.
When reading essay samples one should not have any trouble in understanding the
words and expressions of the author. Remember that for the transmission of the ideas you require not only the ability to write but also the ability to express your
thoughts clearly. The best way to learn to do it is by reading essay samples and
writing papers because the acquisition of the ability to write needs constant
practice and commitment to get high marks during the years of study. The number
of books on the references page always makes an impression on the professor.
The more up-to-date sources the student has used and the more various points of
view he has reviewed, the more compelling the conclusions drawn from the research will be.
A
lot of students don't have the passion to write an essay for they are thinking
of the arduous essay writing rules. Some might say that writing an essay is a
nerve-wracking activity but a bit boring to read. But it is not really hard to
do; full interest in the essay will make it apparent for you.
For
some, an essay is a disaster for their academic success since writing is not their
comfort zone. But thorough planning will make your essay be a success for you.
Here are the basic rules you should follow in developing an essay:
·
The first essay writing rule is that you make an outline for
your topic. This would be the overview of the contents of your work. Your essay
would be organized and on the right track if you do have an outline.
·
Second is to know your reader so as to have an idea of the
topic you are going to write about. Essay writing is not just for you to express your
opinion but also for you to inform your readers about certain concerns.
·
The third rule is to know the parts of an essay:
introduction, body, and conclusion. Devote enough time to the attention-grabbing
introduction so your reader must stay in focus on your essay.
·
After writing an introduction, write the body or the content
of your essay in a logical and organized way. This would let your reader know
that you planned your essay very well. In that manner, the reader would not be
confused about your central ideas.
·
Moreover, your supporting details should not overlap the
main details. Meaning says, your supporting details should supplement
information for your central idea. If there is a need to put transition words
such as: yet, furthermore, moreover, and like, then do so. It would be good to
use transition words so you could have a logically arranged essay.
·
Next would be your conclusion which would end your topic.
End your essay with your point of view but try not to open another topic since
this would be the ending part of your work. It is not like a novel or a short
story that has a genre of what is the so-called cliffhanger. This is not a suspense
event and your conclusion must be presented.
·
Lastly, improve your editing and writing style such as
spelling, capitalization, and punctuations. In this way, your essay would look
nice and presentable. Another purpose of improving your writing style is that
your reader would not be perceiving the wrong information.
· Take note of the correct spelling whenever you proofread your essay. Always bear in mind to capitalize proper nouns such as the name of a person, thing, event, and place. Do not put a question mark at the end of your sentence.
Now, who could say that essay writing rules are a disaster for your academic success? Just be logical and optimistic enough for you to do your essay comprehensively. Have a focus on what you are doing and always remember that you can bring out the best in yourself.
